Traffic Jam Winners!

Now presenting the winners of the MakeCode Arcade Traffic Jam! We had a record number (100+!) of submissions, and the entire MakeCode team has been enjoying your games. First Place: Square Rescue

Square Rescue by donnadie has it all: an awesome opening, evil triangles, and a core mechanic that’s easy to understand but has a lot of depth. It’s the best kind of difficult that makes your brain bend in interesting ways to learn how to win. It might take a while to figure out, but keep playing. The satisfaction of rescuing those squares is worth it.

Second Place: HONK!

Unsigned_Arduino’s HONK! is, at it’s heart, a game that is just incredibly fun to play! Take a moment to enjoy the creative title screen and instructions sequence, then press the A button to HONK! other cars out of your way. Keep an eye out for powerups as you speed up–you’ll need them!

Third Place: Traffic Panic

Traffic Panic from I Am Penguin is a well-designed and thoughtful puzzler with a high difficulty curve. Arrange the randomly generated road segments into a continuous street before the cars arrive! Later levels introduce new mechanics like trees, or slow-down lights that can give you a little more time to quickly lay out roads.

These are some games that didn’t make the top three, but the judges loved! Give them a play, we’re sure you’ll enjoy yourself.

Gridlock Panic by Colin An entertaining game with a dose of realism: survive gridlock while keeping the cars around you happy.	Split cars by LCProCODER Play on hard mode using the player one and two keyboard controls to move the cars, or grab a friend to help you out.
Speedup by limeboat A one player racing game with a variety of levels! Drift around corners and try to beat the author’s best times.	Two player Car racing by Dreadmask197 A simple but very well-executed racing game; find a friend and see who can reach three laps first.
Box Cars by Lucas the Game Builder An in-depth racing game with NPCs, difficulty modes, and a wide variety of levels! Can you beat Rainbow Road?	Perpetual Racer v1.0 by Flint An infinite racer game where you must avoid other cars and stay on the road.
Traffic by SergioF Deliver packages quickly, but avoid the rival cars on the street as you go.	EL TAXI A TODA LECHE by Diego Stay on the road and keep an eye on the clock as you pick up customers in your taxi!
Corre Coche Corre by Dylan Dodge rocks and keep your car full of gas in this game! Can you find the Easter egg?	Late for Work by Connor A challenging racer where you must dodge oil spills and barricades on your way to work.
